Exclamation FPS-Servers (Review)

A Few Weeks ago, I leased a Game Server from FPS-Servers (www.FPS-Servers.com)

I firstly ordered a TEST Server. And it was Superb, The Ping Times Were Perfect, and
it had absolutely No Lag.

So, I went on and Bought My Server.

From order, My Server was set up the next Day. (22 1/2 Hours Later).
I was Given RCon, but No FTP. I opend a Support TIcket To Get The
FTP Login Details to Manage My Server.

After a Long Wait, I finaly Got the FTP Details. I set my own Custom
.CFG, and loaded some mods (That I had Made) onto the Server.

**Booting Server**

The Server Doesn't Boot.

**Oh, Noes**.

I quickly delete the Mods, and Set the Default .CFG

**Booting Server**

Server Boots.

I then set up a Dedicated Server on My Home Box, and Loaded My Custom .CFG, and
Loaded the Mods. (Exactly the Same Files, and .CFG's That I had Uploaded to My FPS-Servers Server).

Server Runs Fine. Not a Hitch, not a Problem at all.

So, I try it again with my FPS-Servers Server.

**Booting Server**

It Boots, and Starts Working Perfectly.

**Jumping For Joy**.

Well, I was Quite pleased with My Game Server for about a week, from the time I recieved
the FTP Details. I was ready to Spend the Money, and Fund the Server 3 Months in advanced.
Until....

Yes, Until the Server Started to Take On Lag, and High Pings. My Server Had Gone From Being Full for almost 10 Hours a Day, to Bairly having a soul on it. The Server Had Constant Lag Spikes. Not Just Lag Spikes, they were ->LAG<- Spikes, as in when I'd Get one of these Spikes, My Ping would Shoot to 999, and I would Time Out. This would Happen to everyone who joined my Server.

So I opend up a Support Ticket, and waited for a Reply. I didn't get one. I added Tansu (the Owner of FPS-Servers), and tried to get hold of him on Windows Live.

**Sigh, of Relief**

He Accepts my Add. I start by asking him about my Support Ticket and How he has not replied to it. (Four Days Later). He Said In reply "You Did Not Open Up a Support Ticket, What Would be your problem. Please tell me your Full Name, and the Game Server You've leased From me".

I provided him with the information. He then said; "Would you now be able to tell me what the problem with your server(s) is".

I replied, in telling him about the lag, and the Pings.

After I had Finished telling him about my Problems, he Told me to erase the Mods, and then see how it Goes From their.

**Logs Off MSN**

I erased the Files, set the server to Default, and then Booted it Again.
No Change, all was the Same, the Lag was only worse. PINGS were shot all the time.
Not just spikes it was all the time now. I logged back onto msn, and told him that it
had made no difference.

To My Surprise I was then Told to "F**k Off, by My Own Host". Tansu, then Logged off,
and I haven't heard from him since, execpt for an E-Mail notifying me of Service Cancellation.

Notification of Service Cancellation with out Refund.

Due to a recent Conversation, we feel that we will cancel Your Game Server with Us.

Well, I haven't heard from him since, and I didn't get my Money Back either.

Over All Cost - ( 6/10 )
The Cost Was To Good to Be True.

Server Perforance - ( 2/10 )
The Server performance was Apawling.

Control Panel - ( 3/10 )
The Control Panel itself was really Good, But the Game Files
were just a Mess.

Customer Support - ( 1/10 )
The Customer Services Were abusive, but Hey I should give them
a point for allowing me to even talk to them.

The Server Itself - ( 1/10 )
I got one Good week out of the Server. Then they Terminated
my account for enquiring about my servers Lag.

Over All Rating - ( 2/10 )

Outcome.

Well, FPS-Servers was a complete waste of Time, and loss of money.
I am/was really dissapointed with the situation, and have a new
host. I do not think that FPS-Servers should be allowed to be a GSP,
and will probably last no longer than another month or two.

I do Not Recomend Buying a Server From FPS-Servers, and I certainly
will not be buying one again.

Well, after looking into them, their background etc.
Turns out that FPS-Servers is owned and operated by a 16 yr old.

*NOTE: If You Read Through out the Website. Especially the Terms of Service. They have quite a number of Spelling Errors.
When they were designing their last website (Not the Current One, that is a Joomla Copy). I noticed, that the designs they had, were similar to some of the websites, that have existed in these forums. IE: Rips.*

Oh Well, it really is their problem.

They'll be out soon enough.

Any problems regarding Next Generation Servers, before starting a thread please talk to a operator or send a ticket to help solve your problems.

Yes, they Did.

No I did not, I was about Five Minutes From doing so though, when it all went pair shape.

Woow thats a first one I hear. I cant beleve people can be that low with their customer's ..... Hope you find whats best for you !
